Montagu Pavilion, Gibraltar

Project CategoryBuildingExterior
iDigital BIM was commissioned to deliver a comprehensive Scan to BIM solution for the Montagu Pavilion, a historically significant building located in Gibraltar, one of the British Overseas Territories (BOTs). Originally built in 1930, this architectural landmark reflects the colonial maritime heritage of the region and remains an iconic part of the local urban landscape.
The project began with the acquisition of a high-resolution point cloud, generated through 3D laser scanning of the existing structure. This accurate dataset allowed our team to produce a detailed 3D model of the current condition, capturing the exact geometry and architectural features of the Pavilion.
Based on this data, we developed a structured and information-rich BIM model, tailored to support potential restoration, refurbishment, or adaptive reuse. The model not only documents the existing building with precision, but also provides a scalable platform for future design, planning, or facility management purposes.
As part of our content creation strategy for digital platforms, we also produced a series of photorealistic renders using Twinmotion, directly linked to the BIM environment. These visualizations effectively communicate the building’s geometry, materials, offering an engaging way to present the project to stakeholders and the general public.
This project exemplifies how Scan to BIM technology and real-time rendering can be combined to preserve architectural heritage, enhance project communication, and streamline decision-making processes. By transforming reality into a digital twin, iDigital BIM helps clients unlock the full value of existing assets through smart modeling, visualization, and documentation.
